The Sports Watercooler

Lets just get this out of the way. Farve, Farve, Farve. Anyone happen to catch Sportscenter last night? It was like a eulogy. I know, the World Wide Leader never runs a story into the ground, right?

The Farve story is important in the fact that one of the greatest quarterbacks to play the game is retiring. But he has also teased this for the past 3 years. Maybe yesterday was just an outpouring of the "Summary of Farve's Career" stories these guys have saved up for the past 3 years.

The Farve news totally dwarfed the fact that we are losing everyone's favorite overweight player, Warren Sapp, who's career is also deserving of some applause. Buffets around the country tremble in fear at the thought of an unemployed Sapp.

In college hoops, Big Ten's mediocre year got more, well, mediocre. Just as it looked like Purdue might be the best team in the conference, they lost to Ohio State, making it now more than a decade since the last time they beat the Buckeyes.

And in the NBA, the Spurs won their tenth straight, Kobe had 17 points in the 4th quarter to beat the Kings, and the Warriors scored 135 points in victory.
